  2. Heat the oil in a heavy passed pot on a medium heat, add chopped onions, cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of salt, stirring occasionally until the onions are translucent..
  3. After onions have been cooking for about 8 minutes add the garlic and ginger paste, cook for a further 5 minutes, stirring the pan occasionally, making sure the onions don't burn..
